Weather in the North of Tenerife
In summer the north of the island it is mostly dry with occasional rain showers. Most of the rain still falls from November to February. January and February are the coolest months. The island has an average temperature of about 25 degrees.
Weather in the South of the island
In the south and southwest of Tenerife the weather is almost always sunny. Most of the cloud gathers to the north over the Teide. In general Tenerife has an idyllic climate, but is warmest in the south and west.
In the winter months the further up the Teide you go the colder it gets; sometimes there are cold winds and snow. Be sure to take suitable clothing with you when you leave home.
For around 3 months of the year there is snow on the Teide, although the rest of the island has sunshine and warm temperatures. You could say that holidaymakers can choose their own weather. It is possible to go from the coast to the snow on Teide in an hour.
Tenerife has the lowest temperature differences between summer and winter worldwide; for this reason many people choose to make this their permanent home.
