El Arico
The region of Arico in the sunny south coast of Tenerife is one of those rare places with historical buildings. Most houses are built in the traditional Canarian style. The hamlets of “Lomo de Arico”, “Villa de Arico” and “Arico El Nuevo” are now in a conservation area.
Wine and caprines
Arico is a centre for wine making and sheep rearing. One of the largest and most traditional wineries on the island, the Cumbres de Abona, is between Arico and Lomo de El Nuevo Arico. With a visit to one of their wine tastings you are guaranteed a pleasurable experience. You can also enjoy the coast in Arico on the beaches of “Poris de Abona” and "Playa de Abades," which is one of the longest white sand beaches in Tenerife.
